Wishing you a good feast of St. Nicholas! I went to the Greek church this morning...it is so beautiful...mosaics on the ceiling.

That doesn't look like an icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. It looks a bit more like St. Nikolai Velimirović. In any event... happy St. Nicholas Day.

Debbi, thanks so much for pointing that out to me! I have replaced the image with one of the actual saint whose day it is. The first one, as I checked back on it, was of St. Nicholas Zichka. I should be more careful.

oh... I like that icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. The colors are quite comforting. I know I read somewhere an explanation on why Christ and the Theotokos are over his shoulder, but I can't remember which blog it came from.
