a task of education

The first idea that the child must acquire in order to be actively disciplined is that of the difference between good and evil; and the task of the education lies in seeing that the child does not confound good with immobility and evil with activity.

The clam diggers are adorable! It's Friday! I want some chowder!
Yesterday I asked one of my classes, "What does it mean to give your life away?"
Most of them thought it meant marriage and I thought that was sweet and it gave me hope for future families.

Did you know that it is Maria M.'s birthday today?

Pom, that is indeed a very encouraging response from your students! I am still learning that meaning myself.

And no, I didn't know about Maria's birthday - maybe it was in the air, though. I should put it on my calendar; she is so fascinating and inspiring and I could at least try to read more about her on her birthday every year. Thanks for the tip!
