Your photo is inspiring, and your tray is beautiful. My mother always makes pfefferneuse, and I brought some home from her Christmas and put them in the freezer for after the fast. I have her recipe, if you're interested. She makes lebkuchen, too.Mariahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17193693907791331800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7512869338404805014.post-73480942340349976432013-01-01T16:54:26.491-08:002013-01-01T16:54:26.491-08:00Oh these looked so delicious, I probably shouldn&#...Oh these looked so delicious, I probably shouldn't have read this post! :-) I made NO cookies this year, since I'm not supposed to eat much sugar at the moment, but I missed having them to snack on everywhere I turned. I love the idea of strawberry rhubarb thumbprint cookies. And I really like your pretty bird tray too.Anastasiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17085771749046398091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7512869338404805014.post-83033981828855459102013-01-01T12:34:03.407-08:002013-01-01T12:34:03.407-08:00I've never noticed until you mention it that &...I've never noticed until you mention it that "cube" is not so common anymore. It was always a cube in my childhood, and in this case I left that name for it in the recipe that my grandmother gave me, even though I changed it from "cube of margarine" to butter....I wonder if the "sticks" of butter used to be truly cube-shaped? I know for a while I bought 1# bricks of butter from Costco and could cut them into whatever shapes I wanted.GretchenJoannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13641677400029070452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7512869338404805014.post-2603732650234082862013-01-01T10:40:05.686-08:002013-01-01T10:40:05.686-08:00Thank you, GJ! I loved reading the three that you showcase here. I bet the salty/sweet combo on those first ones is divine. Salty/sweet is so addictive. I'm really interested in the coconut ones; I think I've eaten them before, wondered what in the world they were, and longed for the recipe. I think it's the rice krispies that mystified me and delighted me. You mentioned Peppermint Cream Cheese -- that sounds SO good!! Perhaps you should have a Christmas Cookie Page on your blog, with links to all the recipes. Yes? If I BEG would that help :) You are the cookie expert!!M.K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09205619221345704689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7512869338404805014.post-31836318794892783572012-12-31T18:06:14.910-08:002012-12-31T18:06:14.910-08:00Please, how much is a cube of butter?

I do have cookie dough in the fridge (Cranberry Bliss...a new to me recipe) but every day has brought along other desserts so have not baked them up yet. Maybe this weekend.Leslie https://www.blogger.com/profile/11216448707277968516noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7512869338404805014.post-65595205675220925882012-12-31T16:59:54.476-08:002012-12-31T16:59:54.476-08:00I love cookie platters, and yours looks scrumptiou...I love cookie platters, and yours looks scrumptious! So pretty. If I buy mini Heath bars, they would never make it into cookies. I can't stop until most are gone.
