Every time I stop to look through a shelf and pull down a potential give away, I make the mistake of reading a bit and reevaluating. Good argument for print over ebooks also.Emily J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01132106976424535611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7512869338404805014.post-84651199274591402182014-01-27T12:01:10.538-08:002014-01-27T12:01:10.538-08:00This Churchill quote is fantastic! I think it must have been nice to visit a place like that, it looks beautiful.
It is so true isn't it about books? I think that is why it is so hard to get rid of them. I am always sad even if I didn't like the book very much. When I was in Oxford, in Lewis's pub. Or in Stratford, standing in Shakespeare's very home! And his church ... overwhelming. Even at Biltmore House. The sense of people and place is rather overwhelming, and I feel so small.

His quote is good advice. I often feel guilty b/c I have many books that I've never read, probably never shall read. Adam reads all his goods. But I do like the idea of books being friends, and we don't have to explore every inch of a friend's soul, and read every page of their lives, in order to be friendly. I find I am taking books off the shelves and some out of stored boxes, and looking at them for an answer as to why I own them...to read again, to be researched, to be shared with someone else... and one by one they have an answer.Jeannettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06115410908800997558noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7512869338404805014.post-31910838493650433712014-01-24T14:39:44.592-08:002014-01-24T14:39:44.592-08:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Pom Pomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01524994024698986829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7512869338404805014.post-33877787908783046012014-01-24T14:39:44.278-08:002014-01-24T14:39:44.278-08:00Wonderful post, GJ!
