The fasting periods that the Church gives us are hard to write about on a personal level, so I appreciate it greatly when someone does a good job of it, like Svetlana on her blog My Sears Catalog Life. A blog name like that always makes me want to know more about the host, which is how I came upon her site.
What do I have to say about fasting? God, help!

ReplyDeleteI just found out that Svetlana, expecting her seventh child, has broken her ankle and will require a couple of surgeries to repair it. Please pray for her.
ReplyDeleteSo funny--I was just thinking about fasting today. I've not heard of fasting during Advent (though I am trying to eat a simple diet, sans alcohol and sugar, in preparation of the feast to come), but many people I know fast on Ash Wednesday. I tried it once, but it was very upsetting and difficult. Maybe when my children are grown!
